Amrita, I'm afraid your suggestions seem not quite relevant to Mail for Windows 10: there is no File option. When in composing mail mode there is a spelling tab, and font type and size may be changed - but it doesn't hold as a choice for all mail, and has to be reset for each composition. My question was: how can the choice be made constant, as in other versions of Mail? Secondly, the auto caps issue.

I can turn the option off via all settingsdevicestyping - but here again, the setting of auto caps of first letter of sentence OFF does not work/hold. The answers you supply are not relevant to Mail for Windows 10, part of Windows Essentials. When I open Mail there is no File tab.
Under Format when in Mail I can set the Font but the problem exists - the change in Font does not 'hold' and I have to do it for every email message composed! And the Spelling tab does not As far as the auto caps, using the settingsdevicestyping allows me to turn auto caps of the initial word of a sentence OFF but that does not work at all. Your final hope of a fix - uninstalling and reinstalling - does not seem relevant either. Mail is part of Windows Essentials and I would have to do the entire package. Are you sure you're answering wrt Mail for Windows 10?
